Holiday for private sector on Saturday

No holidays in the day of birthday of the Prophet Muhammad because it falls on a Saturday (February 4) to those who work in public sector and the holidays will not be moved or compensated because it is weekend. UAE news agency WAM reported citing official circulars issued by the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources stated that its notification that the public sector will not have a day off is in line with the Cabinet's resolution No. 13 of 2010.

However, the private sector will have a one day off on Saturday.

New Year's Day Declared Holiday

All from public and private sectors will be having an holiday on January 1, 2012.

This is according to a circular issued today (Dec. 26) by Humaid Mohammed Obaid Al Quttami, Minister of Education and Chairman of the Federal Government Human Resources Authority, and Saqr Gobash, Minister of Labour, work in federal bodies and the private sectors will resume on January 2, 2012.

UAE Holidays December 1 to 3 of 2011

The Islamic New Hijri Year 1433 holiday has been moved to December 1, to be continued with the National Day holiday from December 2 to 3. This is according to the circular, the private sector in the UAE will also get a fully paid holiday on Thursday, December 1, for the new Hijri year and a fully paid holiday on Saturday, December 3, for National Day.

The public sectors and schools will have the same date of holidays.
