At least two Filipinas in the United Arab Emirates were among women spooked by a man who drove naked and flashed at them in the Midrif area of Dubai, a UAE news site reported Thursday.
Gulf News said the two Filipinas reported seeing the man drive naked and propositioning women on more than one occasion last week.
One of the Filipinas, a teacher based in Mirdif, said she first saw the flasher on the evening of April 27.
"Around 7:15 p.m. I was on my way to a friend's house, a short 15-minute walk from mine. Just off the main road, a white salon car pulled up into the sandy parking area and a guy honked at me," she said.
Thinking the man was asking for directions, she approached the driver, but he rolled down his window and exposed himself.
"He was wearing nothing but a white top rolled up midway to his chest. Below that, he was completely naked. Before I had time to react, he grabbed himself and started showing me his private parts," she said.
She said she ran back onto the main street in fear, "to get as far away from him as possible."
A minute later, another Filipina – a maid – was similarly victimized.
"I saw a car pull over, and a woman walk up to the car and then very quickly walk away. I just figured she was unable to help, so when the driver beckoned me, I went over to help out with what I assumed were directions," said the maid.
She said that when she approached the car, she saw the man was naked and "definitely aroused."
"I too left as quickly and quietly as I could. I was afraid of this man because this isn't the first time I've seen him. A few weeks ago, he did the same thing, drove around naked, but in another area of Mirdif," she said.
Both women said they were too shocked to take down a number plate or identify the make of the car. However, they described it as a fairly new white salon car.
The Gulf News report said both spotting have occurred on weekends in the evening, when there are many residents and children on the street.
It quoted witnesses who said the incident occurred on Street 71 in Mirdif, just past the mosque and the supermarket.
The Gulf News said the women have independently described the flasher as a man in his late 20s to mid-30s, with dark hair and lightly tanned skin.
