Authorities arrested a Filipina household service worker who allegedly abandoned her newborn baby in the garbage chute of a residential building in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates.
According to an online report on Emirates 24/7, the Pinay has been illegally working for a family of 3 after fleeing her original sponsor.
Police were alerted by a building watchman who found the baby alive, wrapped in a plastic bag, in the garbage on Tuesday morning.
The baby was immediately brought to a hospital and treated for minor bruises on the body.
The report said the Pinay admitted to having an illicit affair with person who was no longer in the country.
She said she gave birth around 4 a.m. and used a scissor to cut the umbilical cord. She then dropped the baby in the garbage chute on the 9th floor of the residential building after wrapping the newborn in a piece of cloth.
