The job opportunities available online in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) went up by 36 percent from December 2010 to December last year, the latest Monster Employment Index showed.
According to a report of Emirates 24/7 on Saturday, there was robust online recruitment in the UAE last year.
From November to December 2011 alone, there was a four percent growth in the number of jobs available online in the UAE, the report said.
The employment index said the education sector still remains the field with the highest number of job opportunities available online.
The Emirates 24/7 report said the other leading fields are:
* engineering,
* construction, and
* real estate.
Emirates 24/7 said the health care industry is still the top annual gainer among occupational groups.
Growth in other countries
According to the index, "opportunities grew for five of the seven countries it was monitoring.
"Saudi Arabia (up 56 per cent) maintained its position charting the most significant annual growth among countries," the report said.
The employment index attributed the growth to:
* advertising,
* market research,
* public relations,
* media,and
* entertainment.
Huge jump
Meanwhile, the report said some countries registered a huge jump in online job opportunites:
* Egypt (43 percent)
* Kuwait (39 percent jump), and
* Bahrain (up 13 per cent).
On the other hand, the report said Qatar saw a one percent decline and Oman (down 12 per cent), the most notable drop in online recruitment activity between December 2010 and December 2011.
