A manager in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) faced a court on Thursday for allegedly installing a camera in the office restroom and peeping on a 22-year-old Filipina receptionist, the news site Khaleej Times said.
A 37-year-old Syrian, the manager was charged with attempted molestation and breach of others’ privacy.
Khaleej Times said in October last year, the Filipina saw the camera inside the restroom and informed the police.
The report said the woman was about to use the toilet but saw a device with a small red light.
When she took out the device and connected it to a computer, she was shocked to learn that it was a video camera with a clip of herself as she was about to use the restroom, the report said.
The receptionist said the device also contained photos and clips of her in the nude.
During police interrogation, the manager admitted that he had placed the camera in the toilet cubicle and took footage of the Filipina.
